Governance.
WHEREAS AT A SPECIAL MEETING of the League of Canadian Reformed School Societies held on November 5, 1976 in Burlington, Ontario, it was carefully considered to:
WHEREAS IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT,
NOW THEREFORE after consultation with all participants, the Board of Governors in its meeting of October 18, 1980 has accepted the following Constitution and updated it in March, 2003.
This charitable instituted organization shall be known as Covenant Canadian Reformed Teachers College.
The basis of Covenant Canadian Reformed Teachers College is the infallible Word of God which is summarized in the Three Forms of Unity of the Canadian Reformed Churches: The Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.
The purpose of Covenant Canadian Reformed Teachers College is to establish, maintain, and conduct a college for the academic training of teachers in accordance with Article II of this constitution.
Any Canadian or American Reformed school society may be a member of this organization. A school society from within a Reformed church with which the Canadian Reformed churches have ecclesiastical fellowship may apply for membership. Such membership is subject to the approval of the Board of Governors. Membership of associations formed for the purpose of supporting Reformed education is also subject to the approval of the Board of Governors.
Each member of the faculty will be a communicant member in good standing of a Canadian or American Reformed church.
Enrolment is open to members of Canadian or American Reformed churches. Enrolment of others is subject to the approval of the Board of Governors.
The constitution may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the membership of the College, provided that sixty days prior notice has been sent to each member stating the desired change. Article II: Basis, Article V: Faculty, and Article VII: Amendments shall not hereafter be altered or amended.
The College shall be in compliance with the applicable acts and regulations which govern the administration of charitable institutions. It shall not be administered in such a fashion that any of its members or Governors shall realize personal gain.
In the event of dissolution of Covenant Canadian Reformed Teachers College, all assets shall be equally distributed among the societies which are registered charitable institutions that are members on the date of dissolution after all liabilities have been discharged. website by Adverdea |
