Reformed Education.

As Reformed believers we hold that all of life, including education, is subject to the authority of Jesus Christ and that all our efforts must be dedicated to his service. Accordingly, the world and life view of Covenant College is Christian, that is, based on the gospel of Jesus Christ, who has become for us wisdom from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption (I Cor. 1:30).

We also believe that education is primarily the responsibility of the parents and that the main role of the school is to assist the parents in their efforts to teach their children the knowledge, skills, and values which will equip them for a life of service in God’s kingdom.

We believe that children of believing parents are members of the covenant of grace and as such, heirs of God’s promises. Part of the school’s task is to prepare students to respond to those promises by choosing to live and work in obedience to him.

Finally, we believe that Reformed education is concerned with the growth of the whole child:  intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual.

Although Reformed schools strive to provide an environment where children feel safe and protected and where their physical and spiritual well-being are fostered, the primary role of the school is to nurture the intellectual growth of children in the social setting of the classroom. It is in the classroom that children learn together under the guidance of dedicated teachers.
